1. Question: Are pesticides safe?
Answer: yes, if formulated as per label directions, and applied only to locations as per label directions. Your operator will inform you or note on your invoice if he needs you to add additional safety measures before or after treatment is applied. Working together will keep your environment as safe as possible. Ex: Please keep your pets indoors until the pesticide is completely dry. Back to top 2. Question: Do I need pest control every month? Answer: You need service that meets your comfort level. We live in Las Vegas, warm most of the time. Pest can and have learned to survive in these favorable conditions. Monthly service provides the best possible control of your pest. Monthly service also comes with a no charge return call. If you are slightly more tolerant about your pest control, then alternate month or quarterly service is available. Charged call backs on alternate and quarterly service. Remember, each service type has its own pricing. See services. Back to top 3. Question: Do you use Green product? Answer: : Yes, ARPC has a treatment program for your home or business. No impact botanicals are free of any insecticides, where as low impact botanicals have a small percentage of pesticide to aid in kill and chemical life. Each of these product lines has their advantages over traditional pesticides except one (longevity). Because of this fact, along with liquid treatment, baits will need to be added. Baits are at an additional cost and will need to be added to your monthly service price. Depending on the size of your property, these baits could add as much as $5.00 to $15.00 to your service price. Summer time is when we need to apply most of the baits. This is due to the heat more than anything else. Please talk to your operator if you are interested in starting this type of service. Back to top 4. Question: What can I do to help? Answer: : Remove all leaf litter. Areas with leaf litter provide habitat for all types of insects and their eggs. Pick up the Poo. Roaches will use this as a food source and flies lay their eggs in it. Trim trees and shrubs away from the house. Rats will use your trees and palms to get to the roof, so trim 10 to 12 inches away from the house. Ants will also use trees and shrubs as a bridge to the house. Spray down patio furniture and kid toys. Spiders love to live in or on the patio furniture and kid play houses or toys. By washing down these items before we arrive, the web is removed and you force the spiders to crawl on the ground where the pesticide is sprayed. Remember, access is the most important part to providing complete service. If we are unable to reach an area, it makes it hard to effectively treat that area. Back to top 5. Question: It’s raining, will it wash away or what? Answer: Most products made today are water soluble. From SC & EC concentrates, wet-able powders, or granulated pesticides. Each product has different ways of holding up to the weather. SC & EC products have additives that help them to adhere to surfaces. SCs are designed to perform better in the rain and in above and below average temperatures. Wet-able powders are just that. You might notice a film or hazing due to the powder residual. They also have additives to help them adhere to surfaces. Granulated pesticides are normally used in conjunction with water. Therefore, granulated products work great in the rain. Back to top 6. Question: What’s going on with the bees? Answer: As the weather gets warmer the bees will look to split the hive and move to other locations. While they are moving, the risk of attack becomes greater. The elder Queen is kicked out of the mature hive and forced to move to a new location. As they travel along the way, the queen will rest on various things (trees, eves of your house, or somewhere shaded) until she is ready to move on. The swarm is about the size of a football, approximately 750 to 1,000 bees. The queen might rest 48 hours before moving on. Do not provoke them by posing as a threat. Bees will protect the queen at all cost. Bees will also bump you as a warning that you are to close or have agitated them with your presence. If you are bumped by a bee, take the warning and leave the area immediately. Bees that are feeding are less likely to attack. Because the queen is not being threatened, worker bees don’t want to sting you. If you have a fountain, pool, pond, or flowers your chances of having feeding bees is very likely. Back to top 7. Question: How does the referral discount work? We at ARPC believe “word of mouth” advertising is truly the best. Because of this, we are giving you half off one month service for each of your friends and family that you refer who start service with ARPC. If you refer two people that take on service you would then get one full month of free service. Pass the word and save money. This discount only applies to service and is not redeemable for the cash value. Back to top 8. Question: What’s the status of my account? Answer: call (702)-258-4011 between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday and we can answer your questions, or e-mail us at dan@arpclv.com and we will e-mail you back with the answer. Back to top 9. Question: How do I reach my service tech? Answer: Each tech has a mobile phone for customer contact. Each tech is responsible to answer their phones during business hours (8am-5pm). If you need to get a message to your service tech after business hours, please call the office at 258-4011 and leave a message. Dan 807-8262 Bill 612-9232 Jesse 449-0396 Back to top 10. Question: Where are the scorpions coming from? Answer: Arizona Bark Scorpions love rock quarry. Large rock landscape and block walls provide habitat for them. Keeping leaves, pine needles, and debris off the rocks and away from the walls will help. Skinning palms up 4 to 5 feet from the bottom also helps to keep them from making a home there. Scorpions love to lay eggs between the palm leaves, so please do not leave them in a pile for long after trimming. Remember to shake out shoes left on the patio over night. Back to top | ||||
